Terms & Conditions

Effective July 22, 2026

RingReplacer is operated by Hawkeye S3 LLC, the legal entity registered for text-messaging (10DLC) purposes. “We,” “us,” and “our” on this page mean Hawkeye S3 LLC.

These terms cover use of the RingReplacer app and the text messaging described below. See also our Privacy Policy, which these terms incorporate by reference.

What the service is

RingReplacer is a phone application that lets you make and receive calls and text messages on numbers provisioned through your own (or your organization's) carrier account, running on a self-hosted backend. Two-way text messaging happens directly between your phone number and the contacts you personally text — there is no broadcast, marketing, or bulk-messaging use of this service. The service also sends automated one-time verification codes by text to confirm you control a phone number when you sign in.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to receive SMS/MMS at a real US phone number to use this service.

Text messaging — consent, frequency, and cost

  • By entering your phone number to sign in to the app, you consent to receive text messages at that number, including one-time verification codes and, if you use the app to text, the ordinary replies from people you message.
  • Message frequency varies based on your own use of the app — there is no fixed schedule, and no promotional messages are sent.
  • Message and data rates may apply, per your mobile carrier's plan.
  • Reply STOP to any message from a RingReplacer number to stop receiving texts from that number. Reply HELP for assistance, or contact support@ringreplacer.com.
  • Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use the service to send unsolicited bulk messages, spam, or content that's illegal, harassing, or fraudulent, and not to use it in a way that would violate your mobile carrier's acceptable-use policies or applicable telecom regulations (including 10DLC requirements for application-to-person messaging).

Self-hosted nature & no warranty

Because the backend runs on infrastructure you or your organization controls, we don't operate, monitor, or guarantee the uptime of your specific instance. The app and associated push-delivery service are provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. In particular, a VoIP line should not be relied on as your only way to reach emergency services (911) — configure emergency address registration with your carrier, and keep a cellular line available where possible.

Changes

If these terms change materially, we'll update the effective date above.
